There's something about the Mazda Speed 6.

It looks understated and slightly evil at the same time, I quite like it.

I had one for 5 years.

Great handling, good power, nice shifting transmission. Brakes with a few small upgrades like performance pads and stainless lines were awesome.

Issues are the interior is rattly as hell, the stock ride height is way too high, and the front suspension's camber settings are all out of whack and not adjustable from the factory.

I added lowering springs and camber kits to sort out the suspension.

I ended up getting rid of it because it developed a bunch of rust.

Had one for a bit over 3 years :

Bought brand new, 2006 GT model, red, all the bells and whistles.

Everything broke at least once on that car, the build quality was very low, everything was loose after 3 years.

Nose heavy, very limited power band and mediocre MPG. On the good, it's was fun to drive it in the snow with the TC disable.

for the price they go know, I guess it ain't that bad but for 40K it was pretty awful.

Watch for the rust, it's a Mazda.

Wait, do you happen to live North of Washington D.C. ?

That's not Mazda's fault, hater, move south.

Seriously, I've been told that exact same thing each time I talk about Mazda's rust problems.

Yup, I live in Wisconsin (and grew up in the D.C. suburbs, coincidentally), land of mass quantities of snow and road salt. Still doesn't excuse a 2006 car being super rusty in 2013.

My thought exactly. All other cars are doing just fine.

the 3 are particularly terrible, I saw rust around a 2009 + Mazda 3 hatch tail light.

Nope.

I don't intend on buying one (they were never sold here) I just like the way it looks and the way it drove on Gran Turismo.

Was it that unreliable?

Spent about 3 months in the shop in a bit over 3 years.

I sold it quickly as soon as the warranty expired. I met a few other owners at the dealship and they were all having problems.

Shame they are problem prone I like them and rust is no issue where I live. I guess I know why I see only speed 3s and no 6s.
